Instead of dialing the old 10-digit number, callers who are suicidal or experiencing other mental health crises can now dial 988 to connect with trained counselors at crisis centers nationwide. In the first week after the new number’s launch in July, the lifeline saw a 66% increase in volume compared to calls to the old number in the same week in 2021, according to the lifeline’s administrators.

This is something always talked about around the Major Holidays, Christmas, Easter, New Year’s Eve. But statistics do not show that this is True. On a Normal (Non 1929 type of year.) yearly calendar suicide rates are rather steady Month to Month.

Suicide Notes are always written:

This is a Myth which is very popular on TV and in Movies. Most Suicides in Fact don’t have a Suicide Note. So, No Suicide Note doesn’t mean the death was Not a Suicide. Yes, TV and Movies Love to say No Suicide Note means it was possibly a Murder. Sometimes a Murderer forces a person to Write a Suicide Note before they are Murdered. Or they will type a Suicide Note. So a Suicide Note doesn’t prove or disprove Suicide. Neither does No Suicide Note.

Think about it, a Person who Commits Suicide is Not Mentally All there. They have Nothing Left to Say, in Most Cases. The Suicide itself is a Message to many people. No Other Words were Needed.

A Person Talking about Committing Suicide is Not Seriously Thinking about Committing Suicide:

This talk of a False Cry for Help: Suicidal talk is just a person seeking attention is Wrong. Most, not All Suicidal people seek help before they Kill themselves. Nobody really wants to Commit Suicide. Suicide is the Last Solution for them.

Always Take A Person Talking About Suicide Seriously.

Talk to them, try to find out why they are Suicidal. Often this can Help them and Stop them from Committing Suicide.

This Lie about Suicide makes me Very Angry. During my 20+ year Military Career I have heard this Repeatedly. Saying this pushes Suicidal people over the edge. After a Mandatory Suicide Prevention Lecture (The Command Master Chief said: “Murder Yourselves. Good Riddance to You. I don’t Want Coward’s Working for me!!!) within hours we had a Suicide.

Suicide is the Coward’s Way Out is a Slogan. It is a Lie. It is Said By Hateful Ignorant People. To load a Gun and pull the Trigger with it pointed at You is Not Being a Coward. Taking a razor blade and slitting your Wrists is Not Being a Coward. Neither is hanging yourself, drowning, jumping off a building.

It takes a Lot to successfully Murder Yourself. A Coward wouldn’t have the Stones, the Stomach to do it normally. Do you think it is EASY to pull the Trigger?

MURDER SUICIDE IS THE COWARDS WAY OUT.

To do the Crime but Refuse to Face the Fallout. Being Caught For Heinous Crimes, like Pedophilia, Yes that is a Coward.

This reason for Suicide, Losing the Love of your Life, is Not Only a Military reason for Suicide.

Body Dysphoria and Homosexuality are the cause of countless Suicides:

There is a reason Both Conditions recently used to be Treated by Mental Health Care Professionals. Everyone has their own position on Homosexuality. Getting beyond that. I think the huge number of Homosexuals committing Suicide is proof it is a Mental Health issue.

PTSD Non Military causes and Military causes:

People get PTSD from Traumatic Events in their Life. Like: A Car accident. Physical, Mental, Sexual Abuse. Being in War. Things that have happened to them or something they have Witnessed cause PTSD.

Depression:

Depression is a real Medical issue. I get Sick of hearing people, Christians in Particular, say that Depression is Not a Medical issue. Many Christians will say that the Only reason for Depression is a Lack of Faith in God. That is One Cause, but it is far from the Only cause. Their are numerous Medical Causes for Depression. Diet can cause Depression. A physical condition can cause Depression. Lack of Sleep can cause Depression.
