Charles Stanley was a Southern Baptist Pastor.
No Christian should ever have a problem defending their Faith. So do not attack me for Asking, was Charles Stanley a Christian. I will firmly say that Charles Stanley was not a Christian. He was a False Teacher.
As a Southern Baptist he held to every False Teaching taught by the Southern Baptists. More on this Later.

“Charles Frazier Stanley (September 25, 1932 – April 18, 2023) was an American Southern Baptist pastor and writer. He was senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Atlanta for 49 years and took on emeritus status in 2020. He founded and was president of In Touch Ministries, which widely broadcasts his sermons through television and radio. He also served two one-year terms as president of the Southern Baptist Convention, from 1984 to 1986.
Stanley joined the staff of First Baptist Church of Atlanta in 1969 and became senior pastor in 1971.
In 1972, Stanley launched a half-hour religious television program called The Chapel Hour. In 1977, Stanley founded In Touch Ministries with the mission to lead people worldwide into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and to strengthen the local church. The Christian Broadcasting Network began televising In Touch in 1978. The show has since been translated into 50 languages. In the United States, In Touch is broadcast on approximately 500 radio stations, 300 television stations, and several satellite networks including The Inspiration Network and Trinity Broadcasting Network. Stanley’s sermons, along with other audio and video programming, are available on the In Touch website. The ministry also publishes In Touch magazine. In Touch uses tools like radio, television, magazines and digital media in its effort to advance the Gospel as quickly as possible. Stanley took the ministry name In Touch from a Living Bible he owned.
Stanley’s writings and broadcasts address issues such as finances, parenting, personal crises, emotional matters, relationships, and Protestantism. According to the In Touch website, “Dr. Stanley fervently believes the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God, a belief strongly reflected in his teaching.”
In 1985, Charles Stanley was elected president of the Southern Baptist Convention. In 2017, Stanley named Anthony George to succeed him as senior pastor of First Baptist Church at some point in the future. On September 13, 2020, Stanley announced his retirement as senior pastor and transition to pastor emeritus, but noted that he would continue to work at In Touch Ministries.
With regard to theology, Stanley was a conservative evangelical, and his eschatology was dispensationalist. Over the course of his ministry, Stanley developed “30 Life Principles.” He credited his Pentecostal grandfather, George Washington Stanley, with inspiring one of his most referenced principles: “Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him.” In his book Courageous Faith: My Story from a Life of Obedience, Stanley said, “Granddad told me, ‘Charles, if God tells you to run your head through a brick wall, you head for the wall, and when you get there, God will make a hole for it.'” Stanley also addressed his influences and philosophy when he wrote in 2009 that he “began to apply the principles of [Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich] to my endeavors as a pastor, and I discovered they worked! For years, I read [it] every year to remind myself that the truth of God is not just for one career field. It is for all manner of work and ministry.”
Exposing False Teacher Charles Stanley
The above Bio is a real mess. Obviously written by someone who does not understand Christianity. The term Evangelical is a made up Term. It is not a Christian Denomination. It is just like the term Ecumenical which is also not a Denomination. These are broad terms that seek to put specific Churches into one big happy Tent.
Churches that use the term Evangelical are Lost they teach Repent of Sin to be Saved. Repent of Sin is not in the Bible. Repent of sin means that to Be Saved you have to not Sin again. In this False Gospel Jesus does not and cannot Save you. You have to Stop Sinning. Some will say it is Actually you have to Repent of Every Sin you have Ever Committed, Ask God to Forgive each and everyone of your Sins. If you skip even one Sin you will go to Hell.
Repent of Sin False Churches say both. Many who teach it will deny teaching it. When Asked they say: “No you misunderstand. We do not Believe you have to Repent of Sin as such… But what Saved person lives in constant habitual Sin? They in fact do believe you have to Repent of Sin. They claim a Christian cannot live in Sin. My answer to them is to Read Romans Chapter 7 where the Apostle Paul is in Agony over his Habitual Sins that he cannot stop. They are the worsts Frauds, complete Hypocrites.
Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

Charles Stanley like most False Teachers took teachings from the Catholic Church, from the Pentecostal Church, and many other Churches. Most Baptists including Charles Stanley are very Calvinist in their beliefs.
His Dispensationalist beliefs are 100% unbiblical. Dispensationalism is not found in the Bible it is completely made up. The short meaning of Dispensationalism is that there is not one plan of Salvation. There are many different plans of Salvation. According to them God kept changing how a person is Saved. They teach the Bible has 12 or more different ways to Be Saved in it. Not one of these plans that they have invented is Jesus Only.
These Dispensationalist Love to say that they Believe right now in the Church Age Dispensation Salvation is through Faith Alone, by Grace Alone, by Jesus Alone. They say this, Charles Stanley always said this, and use the correct Bible verses to defend this. But they do not Believe it for a Second. They all teach Repent of Sin to Be Saved which is Salvation by Works by what you do. They do not Trust in Jesus only for Salvation.

That is what happens online typically. People go online to Argue not to Learn and Listen to someone else. They are all know it All’s who in truth have zero idea what they are talking about. They cannot defend their position.
Repent of Sin to be Saved is the SBC’s plan of Salvation. Calvinism is now and has been Historically upheld. Note Calvinism is not Biblical. It is a non-Christian set of beliefs invented by John Calvin. A former Catholic who created his own Religion. He blended Catholic teaches into Calvinism. This is no different than Joseph Smith inventing Mormonism.
I have included my message on the Sinners Prayer. I sent it earlier in one of my 1st emails. Maybe you did not see it like you missed the pictures I sent you about Jack Hyles book on Soul winning. I have also included the information about Billy Sunday I talked about in the same earlier email that you wanted to see. The Sinners’ prayer is Biblical. Cults like the Southern Baptist always put Repent of Sin or another version of lordship salvation in their Sinners prayer.
People often ask me, not how to be Saved only, but how do I know that I am Saved. I know I am Saved because I have the Holy Spirit of God inside of me. I tell people that after being Saved God speaks to me. The notion of God speaking to people is a reason to put that person in a straight jack and to lock them away in a mental hospital according to the Lost World. A popular police TV series Blue Bloods had an episode with the family praying at the dinner table and the young police officer son told his Father: “Today I arrested a guy who said God speaks to him. Do you think God speaks to people?” Tom Selleck’s character said: “This man you arrested, obviously was very disturbed. There are no burning bushes with God speaking to someone out of.” This good Catholic family is the core of Blue Bloods. TV and movies are used to push Satan’s False Religions and to mock the truth of the Bible.
The South and the Southern Baptist Church during Slavery was 100% Democrat. There was not one Republican in a Southern Baptist Church. Republicans freed the Slaves. The Southern Baptist Church is 85% White today and is still full of Racist. I know this from having lived in Virginia, and Florida for over 20 years. I do not believe for one second that it is true that the Southern Baptist Church is by majority Republican now. Many top Southern Baptists were / are big supporters of the Republicans but that is not true across the board.
I hate it how Republicans who claim to be Christians scoff at the issue of Slavery. They wear blinders and falsely claim that people today are not even slightly influenced by the Bigots, the historic Evil attitude towards Blacks that Whites in both the North and South had. Yes most people in the North did not fight to free the Slaves. They fought to keep the South in the United States of America.
The Civil war was fought over States Rights. A popular quote at the time in the North was: “I would never risk my life to Free Slaves. I am fighting for the Union, for the United States.” Lincoln’s speeches were all about saving the United States not about freeing the Slaves. His Anti-Slavery Speeches came after the start of the Civil war. He Said: “If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it.” Lincoln said this because he knew the people in the North would never go to War to end Slavery alone.
Lincoln’s only chance to Save the Union was the plea to Save the Union. The Slavery argument would not have gone anywhere. The argument for the North was to Save the Union. The South was fighting to keep Slavery that was the only issue for them. People feared that England, and France would come back and take over the United States again if it was broken apart. The Civil War is called the 2nd American Revolution for a reason.
Republicans ignore that even today the South is full of Racist Whites. The North if we are honest is also filled with Racist Whites. All of this Racism is because of Slavery. To say otherwise is a Lie. The excuse for Slavery was that Blacks left to themselves were no better than animals. They claimed Blacks were inferior in intelligence and a life in Slavery was a good life for them. Just read Gone with the Wind for proof. Gone with the Wind was Southern propaganda post Civil War. Margret Mitchell was raised by people who lived through the Civil War. She had 1st hand knowledge of how the South was before, during and after the Civil War by people who taught it to her.
To say White Racist no longer exist is a huge Lie. It is not as bad as it was in the past but it is still a huge problem that should not be ignored. All my life I have known White Racist. The military in the 1980’s, when I joined the military, was full of White Racists. A Black man in my squadron was tarred and feathered out in the hanger bay. He was left there for 12 hours for everyone to see. There was a mob of men standing by to prevent anyone from freeing him. He was tied to a chair. The officers, including the Commanding Officer had to have known about this.
Everyone on the ship was talking about it. It was no secret. No one was held accountable for this. I was told if I tried to interfere I would not be tarred and feathered. I would be thrown overboard without a life vest… You know people go missing at sea every cruise. That statement was true. I never went to sea when we did not lose at least one person who went overboard. Death at Sea is a fact. Murder at Sea is also a Fact.
My point concerning Charles Stanley is that he had to be a Racist to be a part of the Southern Baptist Church. At the time he joined the SBC it was extremely Racist.

How to Be Saved:
Acts 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Question? What must I do to be Saved?
Answer: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
If you Believe the Bible is the 100% True word of God than this is how a person is Saved, period!!!! Plus nothing else.
It is hard to find any Church that Believes this and teaches this. Either the Bible is 100% True or it is a Lie.
When you read the Bible you need to look at the entire context of the verse you are using.
Acts 16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

What does it mean to Believe on Jesus? To Believe on Jesus you Believe what the Bible says about Jesus.
John 6:63 “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
This is a very deep and powerful verse. I have never heard a Pastor, a Preacher, an Evangelist, no one ever expound on and teach this entire verse.
I am not going to either, there is too much in this verse to be able to explain in one message.
I want to focus on “… the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
The condensed meaning is Jesus Words are Alive. A spirit is Alive. “… they are Life.”
They are Life means that Jesus Words are what gives us Eternal Life. Also we need to live our lives according to the Bible as Christians.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Jesus is literally the Living Word of God. The only Way to Heaven. JESUS ONLY. Not Jesus plus anything else.
