Christian Marriage

Christian Marriage 101.

A Christian Marriage is between a man and a woman. Christians are not Clones. Christians are individuals with their own unique Personalities, beyond their Christian Faith. Like in all Marriages Christian Marriages need two people who have the same likes and dislikes.

There are Christian Marriages where the man is always out camping, in the outdoors on the weekends. While his wife stays home because she hates being in the woods.  Having the same interests is essential in all Marriages. Without sharing the same interests even Christian Marriages will end in Divorce.

Genesis 2:24 “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

It is wrong to suggest that any two Christian Men and Women could just marry each other. And that marriage would work. It would be blessed by God. This is ignorant, not Biblical.

I get tired of hearing “Pastors” “Christians” Yell (Yes Pastors Yell when they Preach.) at unmarried people. Telling them Love, Romance, Physical Attraction is not what a Biblical marriage is based on.

Mutual Physical attraction is essential in having a Good Marriage.

Whenever you hear your Pastor Preach check your Bible and make sure what he is saying is true. Just because everyone is saying something that does not make it true. Any Pastor who claims physical attraction is not to be considered when choosing who you will marry, that Pastor is WRONG.

They attack the men and women listening: “It is just your own Lust you are trying to satisfy. You do not care about your Christian duty to marry someone who is a Strong Christian.” “Marriage is not about being in this Fabled Love Story with this Mythical person you are attracted to…” I have heard this type of thing preached and printed.

The truth is there are many thousands, even millions of attractive Christian men and women who are devout in their Faith. A Christian can find someone to marry that is: 1) True Love 2) A person who they are physically attracted to 3) A Strong Christian

These Pastor’s want to call everything a Sin. They make Christian Romance / Love, just Lust a Sin.

They destroy countless lives by calling what God ordained (Real Love between a man and a woman.) common Lust.

When men and women feel natural Love and Affection toward each other. Many run away from it fearing it is just Lust and not Love. Because of the False Pastor’s they have listened to.

Telling people that they need to reject physical attraction. To not consider it when they are looking for a person to marry. This is a major cause of countless divorces. It causes people to feel guilty for having a natural God given physical attraction to someone of the opposite sex.

Marriage is a physical and a sexual bond not just a mental exercise of two people being Christians.

Let’s look at what the Bible Says:

Abraham and Sarah

The Bible talks about Sarah’s Beauty. Sarah was so Beautiful Abraham told her on two different occasions to tell the people of the land they were traveling through that she was his Sister. He was afraid he would be murdered and Sarah taken from him if everyone knew that they were married. The 1st time Genesis 12:10-20,

The Second time Genesis 20:1 And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar.
2 And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.
3 But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man’s wife.
4 But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation?
5 Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this.
6 And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.
7 Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.

Jacob Loved Rachel

Jacob and Rachel were both very attractive. They were mutually attracted to each other.

Genesis 29:15 And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my
brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy wages be?
16 And Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.
17 Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured.
18 And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter.
19 And Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man: abide with me.
20 And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.
21 And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her.

Jacob did not Love Leah and he was not attracted to her.

Jacob was not wrong to Love Rachel and to not Love Leah. The marriage between Leah and Jacob was forced. It is an example of so many failed Christian marriages of today. People are pressured into marrying someone they are not attracted to and who they do not even Love.

Jacob and Rachel were in Love.

I hate the FALSE TERM: “Biblical Love.” People say this to claim that Biblical Love does not involve Physical Attraction. These people do not understand the Bible. Or they twist the scriptures to say Physical attraction is not a part of Love and Marriage.

There are many Bible verses about Marriage. Physical Attraction is not a Sin and is part of a Healthy Marriage.

The First Marriage

Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Make sure the person you are focused on is actually a Christian.

We are Saved by Believing the Gospel plus nothing to Save us. Jesus Only is the way to Heaven. No Works of any kind.

1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

What Is God’s Will For Your Life?

Life is Short. It is Important to know. What God’s Will is for our Life.

People when they are Young tend to Waste their Lives. Not realizing how Shot Life is. The Bible tells us What God’s Will is For Our Lives.

Do not take Life for granted.

Life is Short. Please do not waste your Life. If you talk with people who are 50 or older. Many will tell you. That they have wasted Most of their Life. If you are a Christian. You need to ask yourself. What is God’s Will for my Life. The Bible contains God’s will for your Life.

James 4:13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Life is Short. Even if you Live to 120 that is Short. Because after a person gets to around 20. Life starts to Speed up a lot.

Each decade the older you get. Life goes by faster for you. Think back when you were a child. Just one day seemed to last forever. In your teen years. Days get faster. And before you know it. The week is over.

We are not guaranteed to live past the next second. So we should not be boastful. Of what our lives will be like in the future. “After I get my Master’s degree. I will be able to get the job I want. The house I want and the spouse I want etc.” We should have goals. While understanding nothing in our lives is guaranteed.

A lot of people set high goals for their lives. And they exceed them. They live into their late 90’s. And get to see their Grand children’s children grow up.

The Books of Psalms, Proverbs and Ecclesiastics. Are full of cautions about life. And warnings about Wasting your Life.

Psalms 102:3 For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.

4 My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

5 By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.

6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.

7 I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

8 Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.

9 For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,

10 Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.

11 My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.

12 But thou, O Lord, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.

Ecclesiastics Chapter 3 tells us the seasons in Life.

Ecclesiastics 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?

10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

Ecclesiastics is the most real straightforward book in the Bible.

“…for all is vanity.” If you ever get to thinking you are all that. And need a dose of reality. Just read the book Ecclesiastics. And it will set you straight.

God does not want us to be living our lives consumed with DEATH. He wants us to have good lives. He wants us to Love and to serve him.

Life can be Exciting, Fun, and Rewarding. As a Christian. We should not. Live our lives. To maximize all the fun time wasters. Many Hours in front of a TV daily. Being Lazy. Spending too much time. Playing or watching sports. Chasing the opposite sex, etc.

We should. Read and study our Bible’s daily. Be Evangelists. Pass out Tracts. Take part in Church Ministries. Spread the Gospel online, on social media. If you have a Spouse, Children spend as much quality time together as possible.

Jesus instructions for how we Should and Should Not Live our Lives.

Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Always Look to Jesus to find God’s Will for your Life.

The Gospels are full of Jesus teaching. On his will for our lives. Jesus is always encouraging the Disciples. He teaches them. Corrects them. Gives them Hope for Eternal Life in Heaven with Him. Hope and Encouragement comes from Jesus.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

If you are not Saved. Please Do Not Wait, to be Saved Later.

2nd Corinthians 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
